Description
The Warrior table lamp is sculpted with a different character on each side of the lamp. One face is of a more curvilinear and organic form, and the other is partly influenced by African masks, sculptures and their abstract, dramatic effects on the simplified human figure. African art had a profound influence on the development of European abstract art. This is a piece of modern artwork with African characteristics, imaginatively sculpted and finished with textured earthy surface.
Shown here hand painted in yellow, available in many other colours.
Available as a stand alone piece of sculpture or as a table lamp.
The Warrior is part of the Gavotte Collection of functional artwork and a panoply of faces and different characters.
The original sculpture was handcrafted in clay plaster in our studio in London. The piece is then cast in jesmonite, a sustainable water-based material, more durable than plaster and kind to the environment.

Height to top of lamp base 40cm. Width of lamp base at widest point 20cm. Total height of both lamp and shade 73cm
Shown here with an oval laminated shade in Porcupine Rocks Cropfield fabric 30cm H X 40cm W X 30cm D.
This is a handmade product and hand painted, small irregularities are expected and part of the character of the piece.
